What we do

We support anyone living or working in Bracknell Forest, Maidenhead and Windsor, and Slough by providing free, independent, impartial, and confidential advice and support.

Our clients face issues including benefits, work, debt & money, consumer’s rights, relationships, housing, and discrimination. In Bracknell, Maidenhead and Windsor we offer specialist help on benefits, debt & tax, and help with disability benefit applications and benefit appeals. Our work can improve people’s financial situation and improve health; reducing stress and increasing people’s confidence to deal with their own problems.

We value diversity, promote equality and challenge discrimination for the communities and individuals in East Berkshire.

Citizens Advice Bracknell & District and Citizens Advice Maidenhead & Windsor have merged to become Citizens Advice East Berkshire. Both charities have a long and successful local history; with over 140 years’ experience between them, they provide a service for around 7,000 local residents and resolve over 35,000 issues every year. Citizens Advice Maidenhead & Windsor was founded in 1939 and Bracknell & District in 1961.

Local people will continue to be served by staff and volunteers directly in their local community, with the backing of the national Citizens Advice organisation. Both local services in Bracknell and Maidenhead and Windsor will continue to operate telephone and digital advice and are planning a return to face-to-face advice now that covid restrictions have been lifted.

The merger will lead to better services, meeting the needs of more clients, and improve our financial resilience.

New Service For Slough

Citizens Advice East Berkshire has been funded by Slough Borough Council to provide an information and initial advice service for clients affected by the COVID pandemic. This project started in November 2021.
