CAEB celebrates its student volunteers

It’s Student Volunteering Week 2026 from February 9 to 13! CAEB is lucky to have some brilliant student volunteers who dedicate their time to help our local community, providing support with their skills and enthusiasm and making a difference to people needing our help.

Did you know?
• Students can volunteer with us in a variety of roles (not just giving advice or support) and gain valuable skills and experience
• Student volunteering improves wellbeing, develops employability and contributes positively to the community.

Thank you to our student volunteers who play a vital role in delivering our free and confidential advice service.

RHUL student Yasmin said: “I was keen to put my legal studies into practice while supporting members of the local community. Volunteering has been really rewarding, and it has helped me develop and apply key skills such as research, communication and problem-solving in a practical setting. The training and ongoing support have been excellent, and the team has been incredibly welcoming, especially with tea and biscuits!”

Our volunteers make it possible for us to help thousands of people each year. Join us to gain valuable skills while making a real difference in your community.

Aja said: “I’m currently a law student at the University of Reading, hoping to become a human rights barrister. I began volunteering at CAEB because I realised it would be a good way to get hands-on training that is very helpful for my course, but also an opportunity to make a difference and help people!”

Izzy, who volunteers remotely on Adviceline, said: “Volunteering with CAEB has been such an incredible experience and has been a great avenue into community outreach. The flexibility and supervision has really helped me balance my volunteering work with my studies!”

Volunteering improves wellbeing, develops employability and contributes positively to the community.

Volunteer assessor Zakiyah said: “Working at CAEB has been a rewarding way to support the local community while developing my legal and communication skills alongside my studies. I am grateful to be part of such a supportive team and for everything I have learnt so far.”
