At Citizens Advice, we’ve been solving life’s problems for over 85 years. We support our local community with expert free, independent, confidential, and impartial advice.

Serving the people of Bracknell, the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, and Slough, last year we supported over 6,000 people securing £2.5 million of financial benefit.  We know more people want our help and, at present, we are only able to meet some of the demand.

Join Our Team as Head of Advice Services 

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in your local community? Citizens Advice East Berkshire is seeking a Head of Advice Services. In this leadership role, you will ensure delivery of high-quality advice services across multiple channels, maximising engagement and access.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that advice services meet local needs, are effectively managed, consistently delivered and developed to achieve funder requirements, agreed KPIs, accreditation and contractual obligations, client outcomes and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring that clients and the charitable objectives remain at the heart of the service.
  • Working as part of the senior leadership team to support the Board of Trustees and CEO to develop and monitor the strategic plans that reflect the mission, vision and values of the organisation.
  • Developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidate will be an inspiring leader who enjoys creating atmospheres where people can thrive and will be experienced in managing a team to deliver high performance, while putting people at the centre of everything you do.

You’ll be passionate about developing partnerships and will look for ways to ensure processes are efficient and accessible, in order for the organisation to provide straightforward ways for as many clients as possible to access services. You will be effective at coaching the people you manage, and able to develop them well. You will possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate assertively but calmly and compassionately, speaking confidently to people at all levels of the organisation. Crucial to the role is a strong understanding of advice and advice issues e.g. housing, debt, employment, benefits etc in order to support the team with complex work and oversee QAA.

Key Details:

  • Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 dependent on experience
  • Hours: 37 hours per week
  • Contract Term: Permanent
  • Location: Based in our Bracknell and Maidenhead offices. Delivering services in Bracknell, Windsor and Maidenhead and Slough (some remote working is possible)
